Some Healthcare "misstatements" you should be aware of

There are quite a few "facts" being bandied about regarding the new healthcare law that just aren't so. Here are some:

1) Since Congress is exempt from the law they don't really care what's in it.

False. This is true only if it's true that everyone who has health insurance today - and we hope that you do - is considered to be exempt. Congress has available all the health insurance options every other employee of the federal government has, and so is covered by the law in the same way as all other insured people are.

2) Some government employee will be making your healthcare decisions for you, not you, your doctor or your insurer.

False. Since there is no "government option" in the law, the same people will be making these decisions as today, with one important difference. No longer will a health insurance company be allowed to decide to drop you because you contract a serious illness.
